Count the images, add the number, and write your answer!
Six problems where the child counts the pictured objects, then adds a written number. All numbers stay within 10, so children can work from counting or from known number facts. One quantity is a numeral rather than a picture, which is where counting-on begins rather than counting everything. The pictures are Pinecone, Orchard, Bonfire, Computer Keyboard, Scarecrow and Leaf.
4 + 2, 3 + 1, 4 + 5, 5 + 2, 4 + 5, 3 + 2.
In pairs, two children take alternate problems and say how they worked each one out.
An answer key is included, and the browser version checks each answer as the child works.
