What this sheet practises
Six problems where the child counts the pictured objects, then adds a written number. All numbers stay within 10, so children can work from counting or from known number facts. One quantity is a numeral rather than a picture, which is where counting-on begins rather than counting everything. The pictures are Sand, Butterfly, Ladybug, Lemonade, Hot Dog and Sandcastle.
3 + 3, 3 + 3, 1 + 4, 1 + 5, 1 + 5, 5 + 4.
Using it in class
In pairs, two children take alternate problems and say how they worked each one out.
An answer key is included, and the browser version checks each answer as the child works.
