Feelings Worksheet
How Do I Feel Today?
The top band of this Kindergarten check-in page reads Today I feel… above a strip of six labelled faces: happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised, tired, each face with its word beneath it. Below is a large panel headed Draw your face with a single empty circle, and at the foot a lined box whose first handwriting rule begins with the word because. The child circles the face that fits their morning, draws their own face in the circle, and — with help, or in their own spelling — finishes the because line.
There is no right answer on this page, which is the point. Every other page in the feelings family checks whether the child can read a feeling; this one asks them to report one, and the because line asks for a reason, which is the beginning of talking about feelings rather than only naming them. The six labelled faces double as a word wall, so a child who circles sad has the word in front of them when they draw. Teachers who run a morning check-in can use the same sheet every day and watch what changes.
It prints on one sheet; the two writing rules at the bottom are full three-line handwriting guides, so a child who dictates to an adult can copy the sentence underneath. Keep the finished sheets — a week of them makes a small record for a parent meeting. The draw-the-feeling-face page practises the drawing on its own with four given words, and the base match-the-face-to-the-word page is where the six labels come from.
