Days of the Week Worksheet
Missing Days: Write the Week in Order
A word bank runs across the top of this kindergarten page, with all seven day names in pill shapes in a scrambled order. Below it an orange arrow runs down the left edge past a ladder of seven rungs. Four rungs carry a printed name, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and three are dashed boxes with a three-line handwriting guide inside. The child finds which days are missing, picks each one out of the bank, and copies it onto the rung where it belongs. The gaps are never side by side, so every blank has a printed name next to it to count from.
This face asks for something the base page does not: writing the names. Because the bank carries every day, not only the missing three, the child first has to decide which names are already on the ladder, which is a matching-and-checking task in its own right, and only then copy. The printed neighbors above and below each gap give the child two anchors, so the day can be reasoned out (after Sunday, before Tuesday) rather than recalled cold. The teacher looks at the copying: whether the capital letter and the -day ending arrive intact.
The handwriting guides are kindergarten-sized, with a dashed midline. Print it after the days of the week in order page, once the sequence itself is secure, and before yesterday, today, tomorrow, which asks the child to write neighbors with no bank at all. Keep the bank covered for a confident writer and reveal it only for spelling checks. The abbreviations page is the other writing-light option in this family.
