About this activity

A number from 1 to 9 appears and the child taps the number that comes right after it — see a 4 and find the 5, see an 8 and find the 9. It's a free, interactive Kindergarten counting activity that runs right in the browser on tablets, phones, and computers, with nothing to install and no account.

The big idea is counting forward from a number you are given, instead of always starting over at one. The choices come from numbers 0 through 10 sitting near the right answer, so the child has to truly know what comes next rather than guessing. That skill — picking up the count in the middle of the sequence — is what lets counting become quick and flexible.

It is aligned to Common Core K.CC.A.2 — counting forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence. No timer, no score — just calm, playful practice.
