Pre-Writing Review: Five Lanes, Every Core Stroke

This review worksheet walks back through the whole pre-writing journey on a single page: five lanes holding a straight line, a wave, a zigzag, a row of cups and a row of bumps — the core strokes from the earlier sheets, gathered for one final pass. As always, every lane opens with an orange start dot and an arrow, and a friendly animal waits at the far end of each one. The child traces all five, one steady line per lane.

A review page earns its keep in two ways. For the child, it is a confidence lap: strokes that once felt new now feel familiar, and finishing five different lanes cleanly is visible proof of progress. For the adult, it is a quick, honest assessment — one glance shows which strokes flow smoothly and which still wobble, without any test-like pressure. Many teachers keep dated copies of exactly this kind of sheet: two versions a few weeks apart tell the story of a maturing pencil grip better than any checklist.
