Draw the Clock Hands: Mixed Times Review

This Grade 1 page mixes everything the clock has offered so far. One chip might read 6:00, the next 2:30, the one after 9:45 or 3:20 — so the child never settles into a single routine, because every face asks a slightly different question. They read the digital time, work out where the minute hand belongs, and then place the short hour hand accordingly: on a number, halfway between two, or somewhere in between the two.

Mixing the times is what turns practice into a check. On a page where every clock says half past, a child can succeed without ever really reading the chip; here they cannot. Interleaving the four cases forces a decision before every stroke, which is harder and far more informative — an adult can see at a glance whether the hour hand is still being parked on numerals, or whether the fives are being counted or merely guessed. It works well as a Friday page, or as a quick check before Grade 2 time work begins.

Print it free as a PDF and keep the finished sheets; two of them a month apart make progress visible. If one case wobbles, the single-focus pages are still there — whole hours, half past, quarter hours, five minutes — and reading a clock face rounds out the same skill from the other direction.
