About this activity

A number bond shows two parts, like 7 and 4, and children find how many there are in all — counting the parts together and typing the total. It's a free, interactive Grade 1 math activity that runs right in the browser with no sign-up.

The whole sits at the top and the two parts below, so 'putting together' becomes something the child can see. They can count on from the larger part or just know the fact; the dots in each part are there to count when a fact is not yet fluent. The answer is the whole at the top of the bond.
