Match Uppercase and Lowercase Letters

About this activity

One letter appears and the child taps the matching letter in its other form — uppercase to lowercase, or lowercase to uppercase. A big B is shown and the child finds the small b; a big R finds r; a big E finds e. It's a free, interactive Kindergarten reading activity that plays right in the browser with no sign-up.

The big idea is that every letter has two looks that name the same letter. The wrong choices are deliberately close — for B the small letters offered are b, d, p, and h — so a child has to know the real shape of the letter, not just pick something rounded. Sorting out the letters that flip and turn, like b and d, is exactly the careful looking that builds confident letter recognition.

It is aligned to Common Core RF.K.1.d — recognizing and naming all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet. No timer, no score — just calm, playful practice.
